Pita Chips – make your own in less than 10 min
Store-bought pita chips are just fine. But I had some pitas sitting in my cabinet that were getting a little too close to the due date. So before they were invaded by microorganisms, I took action and turned them into pita chips adding several weeks to their original due date. I simply heated the oven to 375F/190C, cut and split the pita breads. You don’t have to split them, it just makes a crisper, thinner chip. I drizzled the pita chips with olive oil and sea salt and baked them until golden 4-5 min. I did this 3 times to avoid crowding on the sheet pan. We ate them all with soup the same night.
PS Add your favorite spice, if you want to kick them up a notch…
One of my favorites!
